Innocent Drinks has launched a new range of dessert-inspired smoothies, showing how the smoothie market is changing from “healthy fuel” to more of a comforting everyday treat.
Launching in Tesco, the new flavours include drinks inspired by strawberry cupcakes, blueberry muffins, and lemon pie. They are made with fruit and coconut milk to create a creamier texture, while still avoiding added sugar and artificial sweeteners.
The launch taps into the growing “little treat” trend, where people look for small indulgences during the day instead of strict health products. Innocent is clearly aiming for something that feels both healthy and comforting.
Innocent has also recently expanded into vegetable-heavy smoothies and coconut water drinks, indicating it wants to move beyond its classic fruit-smoothie image.
Not everyone is convinced, though. Some online consumers say newer Innocent recipes taste sweeter and rely too heavily on apple juice. Others continue to debate whether smoothies are genuinely healthy because of their natural sugar content.
Still, the new range shows how brands are adapting to changing consumer habits. Modern wellness products are no longer just about nutrition - they are also about enjoyment, convenience, and small moments of comfort.
